My husband, Allen, and I are high school sweet hearts. We started dating Sep.99'- I kind of followed Allen home one day, and never did leave, is Allen's story. November 02' we were engaged, and on November 22,2003 - we were married. Having been married for 6 years in 2009, marked the 5th year we had been trying to start our family. With the referral of a Fertility Specialist from a friend, our IUI attempts ended up being a complete success despite my doubts. We welcomed our sweet little girl, Hayleigh into the world on June 30,2010 at 6:28am after 37wks and 1 day of gestation. She weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 20 in long. We found out that we were Baby #2 on April Fool's Day- a complete surprise! Reid Allen was born 11/13/12 3:24am 9lbs 8.2oz 21", after 38wks 5 days. Our 3rd baby, Eva Jane, was born on April 19, 2015 after suffering a pregnancy loss June of 2014. We are currently anxiously awaiting baby #4 due 2 days before Eva's birthday, so we are having Irish Twins! Our family is so blessed and happy to be growing!

Mondays, Hormones, and the Cleaning Bug

Happy Monday!!??? Ehhh, what am I even saying? I hate Mondays! It seems like it takes forever to get to the weekend, and then when the weekend finally does get here, it is gone after only a day's time it seems. Well, at least this week should be a week to look forward to. I have my 16 wk check up on Friday, and get to hear Baby M's heartbeat! I absolutely LOVE this! It is proof to me that I am not just getting fat in the middle! I have been more productive lately, and, I am actually getting my butt up and around the house more... the house is definitely much more cleaner! Yay to that! My round ligament pain is either getting to be less of a pain, or I am just used to it now. I finally got to deep clean the kitchen last night for once. Usually, I can only take about an hour and a half of working on anything, last night, I spent more than that I know. So, progress is being made at least. I do feel much better! I think I took all of the mess I could take, with me, well, "old" me being a clean freak, I finally broke that part of me out again. It felt sooo good!

I have noticed my obsession with food has gotten pretty fierce. Missy and Toby still beg for food. Before I was pregnant, I shared with anybody, no matter how much food I had, or how hungry I was. Now, I don't care who you are, my food is MY FOOD! Allen gets a kick out of this. I feel bad about not wanting to share, but, I am starving all of the time now! I swear I have to eat every few hours, mainly snack on fruit, but, I have to eat, or I get sick feeling and a headache. The one thing that drives me nuts now is that no matter how hungry or starving I am, I can only eat a small portion at a time.

I have noticed lately that my skin on my stomach is getting much tighter. I think this is partially due to me carrying higher. Allen and I are both betting that my belly button will "pop". I even got my first stretch mark! Errrhhhh! Already??? I have been using palmer's belly and everywhere lotion everywhere at least twice a day. Allen said that he cannot tell that I have gained anywhere but my stomach and boobs. I am already looking to get another sleep bra... mine is getting tighter and everyone is just not wanting to stay in their place anymore. I guess I can't really complain about a few stretch marks, after all, it is a miracle that we are even having a baby.

Allen and I went out to eat Saturday, and couldn't believe who all we ran into at the steakhouse. It is amazing how people act. We ran into two guys that were pretty good friends with Allen in high school. We were all in the same class. Well, they just happened to show up at the steakhouse with their wives when we were getting ready to leave. Allen and I went over to say hello, before we left. Now, keep in mind, Allen was in one of the two's wedding just over a year and a half ago, and the other, used to be a pretty good friend too. Now, I get along with anyone, except the other friend's wife. She is not a nice person, and is very controlling of her husband. Needless to say, they do not get along, and just mainly fight all of the time. While we stood there saying hello, no one never once congratulated Allen, or said much of anything to him. The wife that I do not get along with, went out of her way to slide her chair out, and looked me up and down like I was on display. A part of me... a very mean part of me, wanted to tell her, "yeah, it is sad, I am four months pregnant, and you are just as big in the stomach as I am." (She never lost her baby fat from a year and a half ago). Old spiteful me, with preggo hormones lashing out. But, instead, I just smiled and acted as nice as possible. Kill them with kindness, right? So, that is what we did. I am just grateful, that I did snag Allen, and he is at least twice the man, they could ever think about being. I don't understand why people cannot be happy for one another. Especially after going down a rough road to get to where they are now. It does make me grateful that I have such a loving husband, who is kind to everyone, no matter how much he dislikes them. I just wish that the couple, with the wife I don't get along with, could have as happy of a marriage, as Allen and I do. - that has all been bothering me just a tad.. can't you tell?

Well, you know what is coming, Baby Center update for Baby M.. 4 months today! It is going by faster and faster!

How your baby's growing:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

  1. Neat Ashley--just keep rubbing that tummy and anywhere else you want, it will make a world of difference.

Hearing that heartbeat is a GREAT feeling--does Allen get to go with you? Enjoy!!

  2. Kathy - Allen will not get to go to this appointment. He is not too disappointed to say the least... needles will be involved - 2nd trimester blood testing..ehhhh! But, he will not miss the next appointment - 20wks appt. we will actually get to find out what Baby M really is hopefully! Hopefully Baby M is not very bashful!
