Western North Dakota , United States
My husband, Allen, and I are high school sweet hearts. We started dating Sep.99'- I kind of followed Allen home one day, and never did leave, is Allen's story. November 02' we were engaged, and on November 22,2003 - we were married. Having been married for 6 years in 2009, marked the 5th year we had been trying to start our family. With the referral of a Fertility Specialist from a friend, our IUI attempts ended up being a complete success despite my doubts. We welcomed our sweet little girl, Hayleigh into the world on June 30,2010 at 6:28am after 37wks and 1 day of gestation. She weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 20 in long. We found out that we were Baby #2 on April Fool's Day- a complete surprise! Reid Allen was born 11/13/12 3:24am 9lbs 8.2oz 21", after 38wks 5 days. Our 3rd baby, Eva Jane, was born on April 19, 2015 after suffering a pregnancy loss June of 2014. We are currently anxiously awaiting baby #4 due 2 days before Eva's birthday, so we are having Irish Twins! Our family is so blessed and happy to be growing!

Milestones...

I have been fighting to get on here and post over the weekend, but, as you can see, it did not get done. I had such a great weekend that I just couldn't break off to spend time on the computer.

Friday

Friday started my weekend, with no sleep for me. Allen was already home from the night before. It was soo nice having him home for Friday! I really kind of wish I could go back to Friday and start the whole weekend over again to tell you the truth! I left work and came straight home Friday morning. I let Allen sleep while I got some things done around the house. I got done with the few things that needed to be taken care of, our babies, being one of them, and decided it was time to wake him up. It was kind of bittersweet, we sat in bed and watched tv, talked about what to do for the weekend and decided to get some breakfast going. We sat around for most of the morning, catching up on shows together on our DVR, then, Allen decided we would go into town, so he could get some of his shopping done. With Saturday being my birthday, hemmmm 27th... ughhh, Allen had a plan of what all he needed to get done before then. We stopped past my mom's house and helped her with some more of her chrome she had bought for her Hummer, and then went in, and visited for a little bit. I swear, it is soo funny that I am not the only one having wacky dreams. I think the only thing my mom dreams about now, is what Baby M will look like, and what they will be, boy or girl. Mom, then got out a few presents for my Birthday. I cannot believe how much she really listens to me sometimes. She ended up getting me a Belgian waffle maker! I think I had only mentioned once that I would love to have one back at Christmas. Mom has been working 80 plus hours a week. She is a paramedic at the hospital, and one of their other full time paramedics got fired, so she has had to pick up the extra hours since she is second in command, and there are only 3 or 4 paramedics there now to work with the intermediate and basics. Well, she went out and found a good belgian waffle maker, and packed in Cracker Barrel pancake/waffle mix, and syrup. I hope someday, that no matter how busy I am, I can do things like that. My mom is soo attentive to detail it is amazing how special she makes the holidays, no matter how busy she is. She also pulled out more baby loot, yes, she has bought more, despite repeating over and over how she is waiting until we find out what Baby M is. After we visited with my mom, we went ahead and went to Hallmark, Allen said he might as well take me along. We got to Hallmark, and started in the card section, and I think covered the whole store, by the time we were done. We ended up at the Vera Bradley section, once again... Allen has been bound and determined to get me a Vera Bradley diaper bag. Well, I have been holding out on this, because all of the diaper bags from Vera Bradley I have looked at are all in floral prints, and I am still holding out to see what Baby M is. I really don't want to pack around a floral printed diaper bag, with a baby boy. So, we were about to leave, and Allen found the microfiber line they just got in. He found a really big bag, and asked it it was a diaper bag. The lady helping us, did not have a clue, so, we opened it up, and there was the changing pad inside! So, needless to say, my birthday present was found.

Anyway, after Hallmark, we visited Allen's grandma and grandpa for a bit, then had to go out to eat with my dad for my birthday. We had a good time, I couldn't believe that I was still going, since I was up at 1am that morning. We got back and visited with Dad for a while, and had some blueberry delight. Now, the next part was the best present I got the whole weekend. Allen and I have thought we have felt Baby M move for the last week. It is not a whole lot, but, I have thought I have felt it, and, Allen has too. But, that night, there was no mistake about it. Baby M was moving soo much that we both felt it! It was soo nice to both Allen and I to be there when Baby M moved like that. I was hoping that the first kicks, etc, we would be lucky if Allen was there. For that, I was soo happy that we were both there to experience together.

Saturday

Saturday ended being really a great day too. We got to try out the waffle maker. We mainly relaxed most of the day, and decided to go to Vincennes to Montanna Mikes, Lowes, and Lics. We first went past Lowes, and picked up a few things we needed, we got over to Montanna Mikes by 3pm our time, 4pm their time, just in time actually, the place had begun to fill up already. We got out of there, after having a great supper together, and then, went past Lics to stock up on ice cream. Well, Allen decided he was going inside Lics for once, and I knew what was going on. We walked in, and Allen went straight over to the cake section. We ended up picking out an ice cream cake, and leaving with 2 quarts of chocolate ice cream each - that should last us a couple of weeks. We got back home, by 5pm our time, and relaxed the whole night, just the two of us. We just sat there and talked and watched tv. We mainly talked about how fast this pregnancy has went... in a little less than 2 weeks, I will already be 5 months!

Sunday

Sunday, was spent with Allen's grandparents. We ate out for lunch and went back to their house to try the ice cream cake. It was delicious! We ended up watching part of the Daytonna 500- until they red flagged the race to fix the track. I ended up taking a nap, until Allen woke me up, and we went home to relax the rest of the evening. The good thing was this weekend, I felt sooo much better! I got over sinus infection #2, that I got from my allergies. I had not thrown up in over 3 weeks... until last night. I gaged, and I guess that I was hungry when it happened, so, it was on.

One thing is sure, I had such a great Birthday and Valentines Day, I don't think I could not have asked for more!

Today, I am now 18 wks along! As I mentioned earlier, I cannot believe how fast this has went. I think this is partially from waiting sooo long for it to happen, now, that we are here, it still is not settling in yet.

So, with all of that said, here is what Baby M is up to this week!

How your baby's growing:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

  1. Thanks! I am glad that I am not too boring. I realize that I don't get out much, but, I try to write everything down, so that way we can look back and show our kids what we did before they came. Especially, since this was made just for them! Hope you enjoy!
